This is the very last song I ever wrote with The Like Young in mind, and it was recorded after the band ended, in our apartment's kitchen, on 4-track. It was also a departure in that the lyrics weren't directly related to my life. Rather, they were inspired by both Jean-Luc Godard's "Band Of Outsiders" and David Goodis' novel, "The Burglar". Or so I thought. In hindsight, I was unaware of how much was really coming through. It kind of creeps me out, but also makes me smile. Which, in a strange way, is exactly how I feel about my years with The Like Young.
